Asus EEEPC 900 will have Bluetooth

Asus has introduced its new EEEPC flagship at the Cebit 2008 in Hannover, Germany. The EEEPC 900 will have a much bigger display (8.9 inch) and rumors also state that the new Intel ATOM processors will be shipped with the new models. Asus will also provide a high-resolution webcam with 1.3 Megapixel and the possibility to connect mobile devices like cellphones via Bluetooth.

Over the last few weeks the Internet community puzzled over the new EEEPC highlight. Now it’s finally out and proved. No 3G connection will be available so far - only Bluetooth which is nevertheless a dream for EEEPC-Geeks. Fans will have to pay between $300 and $350 for the new big brother. Memorex introduces the iWake clock radio for iPod

You have an iPod and a clock radio but until now you couldn’t connect these two devices? All these problems are over because Memorex has begun to ship its iWake clock radio that provides full connectivity with your Apple iPod. You get a clock radio with LCD display and a digital AM/FM tuner. Waking up was never so easy: just decide if you want to wake up to radio, iPod or alarm - the volume increases automatically every 5 seconds until maximum is reached.

This really cool gadget also comes with a remote control and is available from today. The estimated price will be around $80.

ECTACO jetbook is the eco-friendly book 2.0

According to ECTACO the jetbook e-book reader will forever change the style of reading. With its high-resolution 5-inch grayscale display and other functions like bookmarking pages, translating complete books and the built-in MP3 player ECTACO CEO David Lubinitsky recently promised that:

“This completely amazing device lets you sit down and read more comfortably than ever before. It really is the book of the future and fully eco-friendly. Not a single tree was cut down to make it!”

So far so good. I’m curious about how many bookworms will throw away their books made of old-fashioned paper and buy this gadget for $349.95.

Garmin unveils nuvifone at 3GSM and Cebit 2008

Garmin, producer of mobile navigation systems, has unveiled its first cellphone at the World Mobile Congress (3GSM) in Barcelona and at the Cebit 2008 in Hannover, Germany. The nuvifone looks like another iPhone and according to Garmin is as easy to handle as an iPhone. The nuvifone doesn’t provide a keyboard either and will be controlled with the aid of the touchscreen display.

After booting the device you will only see three icons - Call, Search and View Map. With these three icons you will be able to control all nuvifone functions. Garmin has also integrated the very interesting Google Search function. For example, you are looking for the next Starbuck’s near you, just search for Starbuck’s and the integrated GPS navigation system will guide you to your desired destination. ECS releases G10IL in April 2008

ECS will release the new Asus EEEPC rival in April 2008. The UMPC comes with the latest ATOM processors from Intel and choice of SSD or HDD. The sub-$500 notebook will also come with HSDPA, 3G, Bluetooth, Wifi and three USB 2.0 ports.

So the Asus challenger does not only look nice - it has also excellent specifications that could put the new EEEPC 900 at risk. The new Asus flagship will be released in summer 2008 and was shown at the Cebit in Hannover, Germany for the first time.
