Take a look at the Eee PC killers
More and more Eee PC rivals hit the market. Today we’ll take a look at them. First we’ll start with the original, the Asus Eee PC. At the Cebit 2008 Hannover and the 3GSM Barcelona Asus introduced the new Eee PC 900 with Windows XP, Bluetooth and a 8.9-inch LCD display.

MSI Wind PC
MSI has introduced our first Eee PC rival at the Cebit 2008. There’s not a lot known about the UMPC but rumors say that the Wind PC will come with Intel’s ATOM processors and 1GB of RAM and optional SSD storage, the display will possibly have 8- or 10-inch.

ECS G10IL
Our second candidate, the The ECS G10IL UMPC comes with the latest ATOM processors from Intel and choice of SSD or HDD. The sub-$500 notebook will also come with HSDPA, 3G, Bluetooth, Wifi and three USB 2.0 ports. So the Asus challenger does not only look nice - it has also excellent specifications that could put the new EEEPC 900 at risk.

Belinea Nanobook
The Belinea Nanobook is already available and comes with the following specs:
- VIA C7-M ULV 1.2GHz
- 1024MB
- 80GB
- 7″ Touchscreen TFT
- Skype+Bluetooth VOIP Phone
- XP Professional

E-Lead Noahpad
The Noahpad is really a strange device. It features two trackpads side by side with pictures of keys on them. Engadget also describes that “It can also be flipped completely around so that you’re only looking at the display while the keypad is actuated with your fingers on back and navigated using an on-screen display.”
Everex Cloudbook Max
The Everex Cloudbook Max comes with VIA’s brand-new VX800 chipset and Sprint WiMAX Service, 1GB of RAM, 80 GB HDD, Bluetooth, GPS and a 2 megapixel webcam - the display has 8.9-inch. Really interesting update to the old Cloudbook from Everex, it definetely is an Eee PC rival.

Twinhead C8
Our last candidate in the long list of Eee PC rivals is the Twinhead C8 aka Gamma Tech C8 from Taiwan. It has an 8-inch LCD display and will probably be shipped in the United States and Europe with AMD’s LX-800 CPU. In Malaysia it is already been sold for $560. Another $699-version will also be available - still without OS but driver support for Windows XP.

I tested this camera for a client. I didn’t have the light running for more than 15 minutes. The battery lasted approximately 6 hours before recharging. The LCD, however, had a few dead pixels - never saw this before. Tried returning for exchange and had to put up quite a fight. Anyone else seen this? http://www.batteryfast.co.uk
