Garmin unveils nuvifone at 3GSM and Cebit 2008

Garmin, producer of mobile navigation systems, has unveiled its first cellphone at the World Mobile Congress (3GSM) in Barcelona and at the Cebit 2008 in Hannover, Germany. The nuvifone looks like another iPhone and according to Garmin is as easy to handle as an iPhone. The nuvifone doesn’t provide a keyboard either and will be controlled with the aid of the touchscreen display.

After booting the device you will only see three icons - Call, Search and View Map. With these three icons you will be able to control all nuvifone functions. Garmin has also integrated the very interesting Google Search function. For example, you are looking for the next Starbuck’s near you, just search for Starbuck’s and the integrated GPS navigation system will guide you to your desired destination. You can find some first look pictures from the Cebit 2008 Hannover, Germany below.
